Hello, CityLimitsJunction! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

Thanks for your efforts to improve this site, but do not unilaterally change the regional placement of cities. Wikivoyage does not always follow official regional boundaries, but instead groups places based on whatever we think is most helpful to travelers. Instead of unilaterally changing all those articles, what you need to do is start a discussion on the relevant talk (discussion) page, which in this case is probably Talk:Litchfield Hills. I'll look forward to reading your arguments and don't have a preexisting opinion, but you will need to convince a consensus before again changing all of this, because wikis work based on consensus. Thanks in advance for understanding and being patient.

Best,

I should say, there's definitely a natural logic to having different regions for Fairfield County and Litchfield County, but you have to make the argument, keeping in mind how many cities with Wikivoyage articles would be in each region. Also, definitely never unilaterally delete maps. We would have to come to a new consensus about what the map should look like, and then the map would have to be replaced, not deleted, but you can't assume in advance that a consensus will agree with you. To say that Danbury, Connecticut is in "Litchfield Hills" is just categorically incorrect. A map with false information should not be displayed as a representation of a state. CityLimitsJunction (talk) 22:38, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm a Wikipedia editor and noticed such a discrepancy between very basic location details of the two platforms. My goal is to ensure that these pages do not mislead or misinform. On Wikipedia, untrue information is removed until it can be substantiated. The information that was removed can be proven as untrue by a very simple web search. Is there a reason for keeping the inaccurate details over removing them? CityLimitsJunction (talk) 22:35, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes. As I said above. Please start the thread and state your arguments there. You can publicize it on Requests for comment. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:22, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see you started a thread in Talk:Connecticut. Let it play out and have a discussion. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:25, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
