Hello, Gol929! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.--ϒpsilon (talk) 12:51, 10 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Finding IsIn parameters

edit

As already mentioned, our article hierarchy here on Wikivoyage does not necessarily correspond to that of Wikipedia. To know what to put into the IsIn parameter you can first go to the Wikipedia article for what you’re writing about. If it’s a place (city, town, national park etc.), the Wikipedia article usually has some coordinates and a globe in the upper right corner — click on that. You’ll come to the “geohack” site of Wikipedia, where you should click on either the Google Maps or Openstreetmap, and when a map appears, zoom out to see where in the country the place is located. Compare this to the map in our Chad article and you’ll see what we call that part of the country. ϒpsilon (talk) 14:17, 10 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Also, do keep in mind that it may not be very helpful to create a lot of articles with nothing or almost nothing in them. Just FYI ϒpsilon (talk) 14:20, 10 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

edit

This user is either the same user or an impersonator of the user described at pcv. Blocking as per other accounts, noting also that this user's accounts tend to be indef blocked on other Wikipedia sites once identified. For what it's worth, see Special:Diff/2822864/2822915 where the user suggests he should be indef blocked if their problem editing continues. -- Ryan • (talk) • 14:37, 10 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
