Welcome edit

Hello! Thank you for your contributions to Jackson (Michigan) and other articles. Welcome to Wikivoyage. I hope that you'll keep sharing information with fellow travellers through this project.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines, style, and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you need help, post a question in the Arrivals lounge.

I've gone in to the article soon to tidy up some of the formatting of your edits to bring it in line with Wikivoyage:Manual of style, such as using templates for listings, and reinstating the dynmaic map which shows locations. Thanks again for being a part of Wikivoyage! Ground Zero (talk) 03:49, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

J, regarding this edit, we don't list individual restaurants in a region article see Wikivoyage:Region article template:
"Almost always, individual listings (including detailed contact info for restaurants and hotels) do *not* belong in a region or sub-region page.... Individual listings should be placed at the lowest available level of local page (a district of a huge city or the city page for a small town).:
and we don't list chains if there are alternatives see wv:boring:
"On Wikivoyage, we prefer to list stores, restaurants and bars that are unique to the destination—why write about a chain restaurant when you could go to that same restaurant in any city?"
As you are new here, you're not going to know about Wikivoyage policies. It is a good idea to read the edit summaries that other editors write to understand why they are making edits to your work. Thanks again for your contributions. Ground Zero (talk) 11:02, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Small airports edit

These don't get their own article. Look at the WV:Airport Expedition. Thanks.

Best,

By the way, sorry if I sounded terse. Nothing personal, just busy and it was late at night. Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:55, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's alright. Thanks for the "newbie tips." I have a passion for travel and geography and want to update as much as possible. Thanks for the pointers! Jhardaway1115 (talk) 22:23, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome! I've been a geography buff since I was 6, so we share that in common. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:49, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see you've now started an article for Port Moresby Airport. Could you please post to Wikivoyage talk:Airport Expedition and seek consensus before you start any more airport articles? Only really huge airports with lots of connecting flights get their own articles on this site. Port Moresby#By plane is a very short section that is at no risk at all of overwhelming the article, and w:Port Moresby International Airport and https://www.port-moresby-airport.com/ say that the airport "handled 1,400,000 million passengers in 2015" (with no more recent update). That is not a large number of passengers, and the pictures of the airport make it look tiny, although there are two terminals. Per the airport's website: "Port Moresby Domestic Terminal handles domestic flights and it is a small terminal. It doesn’t have a lot of amenities." It does say this about the International Terminal: "There are lots of concessions and facilities and it is fully equipped." I don't know what "lots" or "fully equipped" mean, but how many listings could there be in the "Eat," "Drink," "Buy," "See," "Do" and "Sleep" sections? Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:44, 24 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, about that. Sure, I'll make sure to do that next time. I thought it could qualify because it is the only international airport in Papua New Guinea and by far the largest airport in the country. I thought perhaps people would need information about that airport to get into the country. I'll check the guidelines in the future. Thanks! Jhardaway1115 (talk) 23:37, 12 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
No problem, but they do need that information! It's just that it's short enough to fit in Port Moresby#By plane. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:19, 13 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see. Thanks for the clarification. Jhardaway1115 (talk) 02:19, 13 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

"Future highways" edit

We don't mention those, only travel methods that currently exist. Please feel free to add information about new highways when they have been built. Also, whenever someone reverts your edits or further edits any of the articles you are working on, they usually leave an edit summary. You can see them by looking at the article's history. Don't get into edit wars. If you'd like to discuss something about an article, feel free to start a thread on its talk page - in this case, Talk:Greater Phoenix. Thanks.
