Welcome
editHello Js1111korea! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub tagging → article status
It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing! Ibaman (talk) 16:25, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
Blocked
editYou were blocked for failing to read and comply with the above. Read the policy and don't edit war. Ibaman (talk) 16:36, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- They shouldn't edit war, but it looks to me like they're trying to add what they feel is useful information to the Seongju County.
- User:Js1111korea, I think it would be great to be able to have listings about attractions you were trying to add to that article. But you can't add them the way you did. Please follow the format shown at Wikivoyage:Listings, and don't give red links to attraction names that will never have their own articles (see Wikivoyage:What is an article - this site is very different from an encyclopedia like Wikipedia, so make sure to read welcome, Wikipedians, too). Also, did you copy and paste the text you added from some other website? Some other concerns: Some of the tone you use seems to violate Wikivoyage:Don't tout, and I'd also suggest for you to read welcome, tourism professionals, because even if you are not yourself a tourism professional, you seem to be quoting promotional language from tourism brochures (see Wikivoyage:Copyleft about the problems with quoting, especially from copyright, all rights reserved sites). My final observation for now is that wikitables are seldom used on this site, and in the cases I'm seeing in your edits, I think there are better ways to handle the information. For example, if all the kid-friendly places have their own listings, they can simply be stated to be part of a family tourism promotion, if that's even useful for readers to know.
- If you can let us know that you've read this message and will read all the links I've given you and ask questions about them as necessary before you start editing again, I think I can speak for Ibaman as well as myself that we'd be happy to unblock you. - Yes, please acknowledge and reply here. Communication and consensus are important cornerstones in this community, much more than nicely formatted wikitables. Ibaman (talk) 21:09, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
