Welcome edit

Hello, KarimBadr251! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 21:26, 13 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Esna edit

Thank you for your edits to Esna, and for contributing those lovely photos. Unfortunately, I have had to remove two photos (one of yours, and another one) from the article because at present there is not enough text. The stream of pictures went down past the end of the text, and was overwhelming the other content, particularly the map. But don't worry, the photos haven't been deleted, they're just sitting on Talk:Esna waiting for the right time to be put back. I hope you will continue to add written content to the article; if you do, there will be more room for pictures. Let me know if you have any questions. ThunderingTyphoons! Thank you for your welcoming message and your advice, As an admin here i will need your help and I have to keep you informed by the purpose of such work. I am contacting you from Egypt as a member of the company working on the Regeneration of Esna city and the preparation of the city to be listed as a touristic attraction for tourism and travelers from all over the world. Let me introduce you about our project, The Rediscovering of Esna’s Cultural Heritage Assets (RECHA) Project is implemented by Takween Integrated Community Development in partnership with CID Consulting - and in collaboration with the Luxor Governorate and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities. The project is funded by the American people through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) within the framework of the bilateral agreement ‘Sustainable Investment in Tourism in Egypt’ (SITE) between the governments of Egypt and the United States - with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of the tourism sector in Egypt through improving the management, conservation and promotion of cultural heritage sites. The city is not only diverse historically, but also culturally with its essence sourcing its value from the historic landmarks, people, food, traditions, handicrafts and architectural heritage. The people and traditions come from a simpler time that has been preserved through stories and tales for thousand years. In the plan of providing a proper destination management for the city as historic city, we are working on improving the interpretation of the city.

Right now a progress has been achieved in the city of Esna which is located 30 KM south of Luxor city, we are contacting your esteemed company as one of the most trendy travelling apps and the most important one. We are contacting you to know the procedures and to check the possibility of adding the content on your website regarding Esna. Esna city has been always promoted in the travelling apps through the Ancient Egyptian temple located there, while the it is a multy layered historic city with different forms of cultural heritage. In that case we can provide you with all the data and information needed about the city and its cultural heritage resources and its touristic attractions. Also the data about how important and significantly precious these heritage icons are. I hope you can help us improving the content about Esna city heritage assets, Kindly, receive my best regards and I am looking forward for your cooperation --KarimBadr251 (talk) 10:02, 14 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. Thank you for your explanation and for your kind words about Wikivoyage. We absolutely would love to work with you to improve content on Esna. There are a few important pages I'd like you to read before continuing:
  • Wikivoyage:Welcome, tourism professionals - about the relationship we hope to build with individuals and companies like yours in the travel sector.
  • Wikivoyage:Copyleft - about content licensing and copyright: very important because our servers are in California, which has some of the strictest licensing laws in the world.
  • Wikivoyage:Don't tout - about the difference between providing fair information that helps travellers, and advertising a service or business.
One other small thing, Wikivoyage isn't a company, but rather a part of the Wikimedia Foundation, which is a non-profit / charitable organisation. As such, all of Wikivoyage's contributors are volunteers and not employees. We're here because we have a passion for travel and for learning about the world.
I look forward to seeing more of your work. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask either here, on my talk page, or in the Arrivals lounge. Best wishes, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:32, 14 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
