If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)

- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.

Map request
editHello Vectormapper, I see you've been working on SVG maps, and I have a request. The East Bay article and its two subregions (Inner East Bay and Outer East Bay) need maps reflecting the new region division. There are coordinates for the outlines of the regions here: User:Mx. Granger/East Bay subregions. Is there any chance you'd be able to make a map for the East Bay article that distinguishes the two subregions (and indicates the locations of the main cities), and maps of each individual region for the other two articles? - Thanks! The subregions are Wikivoyage's own invention and don't have official names (though the terms "inner East Bay" and "outer East Bay" are sometimes used to refer to approximately these areas). Their outer borders consist of the boundaries of Alameda County and Contra Costa County, and the boundary between them roughly follows the ridge of hills in between. —Granger (talk · contribs) 00:12, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you! If you have the chance to create a version that has cities labeled, like the one at Bay Area does, that would also be great. Ideally we would label the cities from East Bay#Cities on the main map and all significant cities and towns on the other two maps. - Yeah, maybe not ideal. I think the one at File:East Bay area California US street map SVG.svg will be fine for now. Maybe sometime we can create one that's more "Wikivoyage style" as discussed here. —Granger (talk · contribs) 00:32, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- The problem with maps of large objects in SVG format is the size of the final file and the ability of the user's browser to process and display images. That is, in the statistics proposed here, only small fragments of the city are possible. Kirill Shrayber (talk) 00:40, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- I see. Maybe the solution is to use less detailed maps for the region articles. Individual streets are useful in city articles, but in region articles we mainly need to show the shapes of the regions, locations of important cities, towns, and other destinations, and major transportation infrastructure like metro lines and passenger airports. —Granger (talk · contribs) 16:01, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
