Hello, Naintours! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Your edit to Iran has been reverted. It is policy to keep city lists at or under 9 entries. If you think Na'in is important enough to replace one of the cities on the current list, start a discussion at Talk:Iran. Please do not change the list again without first reaching consensus on the talk page. Pashley (talk) 09:11, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

ok thank you. i will try my best. but i added Na'in in other destinations which is 7 plus Na'in now. —The preceding comment was added by Naintours (talkcontribs)

"Other destinations" means other than cities, as I mentioned in my editing summary. Please read edit summaries, which you can easily see in article histories - for example, this is the history of the Iran article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:32, 23 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

ou know brother i have updated Wikitravel different pages for the last 3 years and i have never encounter such a problem. Na'in is included "other destinations" for a long time: http://wikitravel.org/en/Iran#Other_destinations

almost entire page of Na'in in Wikivoyage is a copy of wikitravel and wikipedia which is created and promoted by me. i don't understand why i can not add Na'in in "other destination" while if wikitravel is Ok? both website and same aim and structure. Thanks —The preceding comment was added by Naintours (talkcontribs)

I can't address moderation decisions (or the lack of same) at Wikitravel, only policy on this site. If Na'in is a really important city in Iran, you may be able to make a good argument that it should be listed in the list of 9 cities in the Iran article instead of one of the cities that's currently listed. If so, make your argument at Talk:Iran. If not, consider the difficulty in listing only 9 cities in the article for India (and look at Talk:India for some of the arguments about very important cities like Ahmedabad not being listed). The fact that a city isn't listed at the national level isn't some kind of insult to that city. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:18, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

my question is why Na'in can not be in "other destination" list? i know that there are more important cities than Na'in in iran. that's why i'm not insist to enlist it as 9 cities but why it shoudn't be in the "other destination"  ? —The preceding comment was added by Naintours (talkcontribs)

The purpose of the "Other destinations" section of a region article is for listing things like national parks or other destinations that aren't cities - see for example North America#Other destinations, which lists several national parks, a theme park, archaeological sites, etc. Cities only go under the "Cities" heading. -- Ryan • (talk) • 21:03, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
I thought Na'in was just a village, but the article says it is 70,000 so definitely a city. I do not think we can really consider listing it under Iran#Cities; it would need to replace some less important city and I do not see any on the list. Conceivably Qazvin or Yadz; I do not know Iran all that well and cannot be entirely certain on those. The others are, I think, obvious
It should be listed in lower level region articles. It is in Isfahan (province) but not in Central Iran which lists only 7 cities, so it might be added there.
It might be mentioned in the Buy section of the Iran article since it is one of the most famous places in Iran for top-grade carpets. Of course you do not have to go to Na'in to get those; the Isphahan bazaar has lots of Nai'n carpets and I suppose other places do too. Pashley (talk) 02:39, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yazd had a population of 423,006 as of 2006. I don't think such an important city should be replaced at the national level. Sounds like a good point about the carpets, though. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:47, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pagebanners

edit

Hi. Please have a look at Wikivoyage:Banner Expedition#Creating a banner. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:17, 28 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

hi i have read it briefly . now it's more than 2100 px. —The preceding comment was added by Naintours (talkcontribs)

That banner is a completely impossible picture, some kind of weird collage. Collages are not allowed on this site - see Image policy#Montages and galleries. I therefore believe the banner will not be allowed to stand. Could you please find a normal photo to use for a pagebanner? Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:40, 28 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Also, would you please sign your posts on talk pages? If you don't, it's hard to keep track of who's talking to whom. Type the tilde key (~) 4 times in a row before you finish the next (and all subsequent) talk page posts. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:41, 28 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

acually i'm not very familiar with wiki series interactive structure. i need to take a panorama picture later on. thanks for tips and advices —The preceding comment was added by Naintours (talkcontribs)

A really high-quality panorama would be great - and once again, please sign your posts on talk pages. I reverted the banner, for the reason I stated above. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:54, 28 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Too many images

edit

Hi. I reverted your latest addition of several images to the Na'in article. Please read my post at Talk:Na'in. I appreciate that you've been adding some nice information and images, but you have not created a really usable article for travelers, to date. We need fewer images and way less extensive background information on sights, but way more practical info on where things are, how to get places, where to eat, and where to sleep. But I'm just repeating what I already wrote in the Talk page, so read that. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:24, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello. not to have too many image is your personal opinion, not the wiki's guideline —The preceding comment was added by Naintours (talkcontribs)

You don't get to do everything your way and then claim that my objections based on all kinds of policy pages that I have cited with links are just my "personal opinion." Wikis are collaborative, not spaces to hold your blog that you do your way without any attempt to conform to the Manual of style or make the article you're working on Usable, per the criteria in Wikivoyage:Small city article template or Wikivoyage:Large city article template. And you refuse to even sign your talk page messages, after repeated requests. Now read through Wikivoyage:Image policy and then try to claim again that this wiki has no policy on avoiding too many images. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:30, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello . i have read it "took a glance" and i realized that i owe you an apology. i deeply sorry i misjudge you. except in "Do" section and Map which i'm working on it. i won't add any photo. thanks and sorry agian

That's OK, but would you please add your signature to that post? 4 tildes (~) in a row. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:24, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ok thanks i get it.. Naintours (talk) 14:56, 4 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
