It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Also have a look at Wikivoyage:What is an article and Wikivoyage:Small city article template.

How to start a new article

edit

Let's take the example of Kidlington‎. If you had done a search for it, you would have gotten a red link that you could have then clicked to start the article and clicked "City" to produce a blank WV:Small city article template. Now that you've created a stub, please go to Wikivoyage:Quick small city article template and copy all that to the new page, so it's no longer a stub. Then start filling in information.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of this, and thanks!

All the best,

Small articles

edit

Hi Terrencemorgan, welcome to Wikivoyage. It's a pleasure to see someone interested in adding content to Wales articles.

Would you mind taking a look at a guideline page we have called WV:What is an article - as the name suggests, it lays out our criteria for new articles to be created. Generally speaking, a place should have at least one type of accommodation for travellers, which is usually a good indication of other facilities for visitors - attractions, landmarks, activities, places to eat etc. Are you sure that all of the articles you've created in the Bridgend borough fit these criteria? I'll be the first to admit I don't know the area well, but at least based on what's on Wikipedia, there doesn't seem to be much of interest to visitors in Maesteg or Glyncorrwg, while Llangynwyd looks more promising.

I guess you know the area, so what do you think? Regards, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 11:38, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Further to this, I'd like to suggest that when you have a not-yet-article at this stage of development, you use a subpage of your user page such as User:Terrencemorgan/Glyncorrwg, and move the article to articlespace only when you have information in at least several sections of the article. That is, if it does pass the what is an article test. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:26, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I propose redirecting Maesteg and Glyncorrwg to Bridgend. @Terrencemorgan, Ikan Kekek: Any thoughts? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 09:35, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
I definitely support redirecting those articles if there isn't a lot more to say about those places. I'd defer to you two on where to redirect. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:19, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Any thoughts on the above, Terrencemorgan? I will be redirecting the two articles to Bridgend by the end of the week otherwise. All the best, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 11:23, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think Maesteg should be left as it is as I am still working on it. But Glyncorrwg could be redirected.Terrencemorgan (talk) 11:48, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for replying. I won't worry about Maesteg for now and will let you work on it in peace. Let us know if you need any help with anything.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 12:10, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Maesteg has a population of over 20,000 so its indeed very likely to merit an article here and its been expanded anyway. Crouch, Swale (talk) 12:59, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Explanation

edit

An edit summary would have been helpful in explaining this edit. I don't question that you must have had good reasons for it, but maybe you'd like to mention them on the article's talk page.

Thanks for your work, and all the best,
