Uuueol
Welcome
editHello Uuueol! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub tagging → article status
It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!
At a glance, many of your edits so far look like long swaths of Wikipedia text or, worse, encyclopedic text taken from copyright, all rights reserved sites. So in addition to reading Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians, please read Wikivoyage:Copyleft and make sure you aren't violating any copyrights by copying and pasting from Creative Commons Copyleft sites without crediting them or from copyright, all rights reserved sites at all. And since some of your edits are out of keeping with the style of Wikivoyage:Article templates, please have a look at Wikivoyage:Small city article template as an example and if I haven't hit you with too many links yet, also look at Wikivoyage:Capitalization for a minute.
Please let us know if you have any questions. You can ask them below if you like.
Best,
Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:26, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Another point, though: For Yanbian, the Wikivoyage:Region article template is relevant. Please have a look at that. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:40, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Airport listings
editHello again, Uuueol. Please don't list airports for other cities in the Shaoxing article; just link to the "By plane" sections of the relevant cities, like this: "[[Hangzhou#By plane|Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport]] is (number) of km from Shaoxing with (describe connections) to this city." Information on how far it is from Hangzhou is irrelevant in the Shaoxing article.
Please acknowledge reading my posts on this page. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:18, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Understood. Thank you so much! Uuueol (talk) 04:08, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

- Hello Ikan Kekek ,@Ikan Kekek
- I have recently completed drafting the travel guide for Shaoxing as part of my assignment. It would be great if you could take a look and share your feedback.
- I’ve also started a discussion on the article's discussion page for further comments or suggestions. Your advice on formatting, content, or any other improvements would be much appreciated.
- Thank you for your time and help! Uuueol (talk) 06:54, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

@Uuueol: I just removed the details for airports from Shaoxing, and for railway stations that are in other cities. Why didn't you remove this information from the article after user:Ikan Kekek told you that we don't do that in Wikivoyage? It is up to you to correct your errors, not other contributors. Ground Zero (talk) 03:25, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies for any oversight. I have already removed the part of the section about 'By plane' as requested. I wasn’t aware of any other changes needed, but I will carefully review and revise the article. Thank you for your guidance and patience.. Uuueol (talk) 13:51, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- By the way, although Zhuji and Shengzhou are classified as cities, they are administratively part of Shaoxing and are governed by Shaoxing's municipal authority. Strictly speaking, they are indeed part of Shaoxing. However, I can revise this section further if you think it needs adjustments. Uuueol (talk) 14:02, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
