Star articles vs /Destinations of the month
editHello, I am an editor of the sister wiki in Spanish. In eswikivoyage we currently do not have defined criteria for a Star articles per se and almost all of the ones that appear in the category are actually or were selected as Article/Destinations of the month in an irregular way. I would like to know how you have defined in this wiki, the criteria and differences between Star articles and Articles of the month. I could not locate any guidelines for this. - See Wikivoyage:Article status which has links to the status criteria for the different types of articles. Also see Wikivoyage:Star articles. Current discussions about whether an article can become a star are on Wikivoyage:Star_nominations.
- Destinations of the month are chosen from articles which have already reached Guide or Star status. See Wikivoyage:Destination of the month candidates for current articles being considered, and the related Wikivoyage:Destination of the month candidates/Banners. - Good. I don't remember if editors of the other wiki commented on it before. But sometimes I've thought about how to differentiate a Star article from a Destination of the month, but I couldn't put those points. As you will see, in the Pagebanner the Destination of the month symbol appears next to the Star article in some guides. And that can raise questions. Regards. - Likewise, there are many star articles that are not previous destinations of the month. Copenhagen/Amager or Canberra/Hall are two examples that I can think of on the top of my head. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 13:04, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Upgrade from outline to usable
editHey, So I am editing an article, and according to the criteria, It seems to me the article is good enough to be in the usable catogorey, so how do I upgrade it? Someonehere12345 (talk) 03:15, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Near the bottom of the page, change {{outlinecity}} to {{usablecity}}. OhanaUnitedTalk page 04:50, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Do I need to achieve some kind of consensus however? Someonehere12345 (talk) 04:55, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Wikivoyage:Article_status#Changing_status TL;DR: just do it :) -- andree 06:20, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Itineraries or travel topics
editThere are articles that have an itinerary status template but are otherwise classified as travel topics:
Since they should not be classified as both, which article type should they be assigned? Should there be something on a project page about how to choose between these two classifications? JsfasdF252 (talk) 00:51, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- Those three are clear cases. Pirinexus is an itinerary article describing a cycling route, the two others are travel topic articles wrongly classified as itineraries (the destination lists are in typical travel topic style).
- We do have outline itineraries that are meant to be itineraries but lack the itinerary essentials and could as well be developed into travel topics (if somebody finds a useful way to do that), and some travel topics, like the Nobel tourism article, could be tweaked to be an itinerary (in this case by adding Prepare, Get in and a thought-out itinerary through the point of interest – with no prejudice on whether such a change would be to the better).
- I will correct the classification (the MediaWiki template) now.
