Alternative banner for this article? edit

Banner currently used in this article

Suggested new alternative banner

I created a new alternative banner for this article (I initially created it first and foremost so that it would be used at the top of the parallel article in the Hebrew edition of Wikivoyage, yet I later decided to also suggest that the English Wikivoyage community would consider using it here as well). So, which banner do you prefer having at the top of this article? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 08:28, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

The current banner is much more attractive. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:47, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. --Comment by Selfie City (talk about my contributions) 14:37, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Technical comment: Suggested banner depicts "ships", not "boats". According to ship captains, ships can carry boats, but not vice versa. Please keep up the good work on other items. Regards, Hennejohn (talk) 18:21, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hennejohn, the article refers our readers to the existing articles about both ships (Cruise ships, Freighter travel, Ferries, Ocean liners) and boats (Boating). So the banner does fit well with the subject matter in this instance... but, maybe for the sake of clarity, the article should be re-named? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 21:13, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I prefer the current banner. Any new one should show both ships and smaller boats. The new one is also too similar to the banner on Grand Turk which was made from the same photo. AlasdairW (talk) 22:35, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I prefer the current one as well. The alternate one seems less inviting. DethDestroyerOfWords (talk) 13:45, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yep, the alternate banner is the typical, intimidating cruise ships that don't give boat travel a good name (cruise ships are nicer inside than outside!). --Comment by Selfie City (talk about my contributions) 16:20, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Renaming edit

Should this article be renamed to more accurately reflect the technical definition of "boat"? Hobbitschuster (talk) 04:51, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Renamed to what? Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:35, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
That I do not know. Hobbitschuster (talk) 06:17, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps it could be "Travel at sea"? Or "Sea travel"? There's the sub-article images to specify the how the sea travel is occurring. (Is a sub article about submarine travel a sub sub article?) DethDestroyerOfWords (talk) 15:16, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Ferries are not usually at sea, though there are exceptions in the narrower seas (e.g., Baltic, Mediterranean). Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:00, 19 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
