2010 July 11th Eclipse

Does anyone have information on how the eclipse in two years is going to affect reservations and travel to Easter Island. The island is directly in the path of totality and I have read that Lan is refusing to take reservations at this point (even though travel sites are already promising booking space). Since Lan is the only way to get there if they choose to close their own airport to other air traffic, this may be an issue.

Better picture

There got to be a better picture of Moai on easter island. The picture there isn't of great quality. Just a suggestion.

More Tours

Alternative banner for this article?

In the Hebrew Wikivoyage we are currently using this banner instead of the one which is currently used here. Do you think too that this banner would would better than the existing one? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 14:07, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Categorize with Chile?

Easter Island is part of Chile, has the same immigration system as Chile, and has more flights from Chile than any other country. Therefore, it should be categorized as part of Chile. What do you think? /Yvwv (talk) 16:13, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

On the face of it, that seems sensible. Just like Hawaii is part of Polynesia but a region (and state) of the U.S. But let's see what other people say. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:26, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Improvements

I think this article is a diamond in the rough. It has some really useful text. Maybe we can figure out what improvements are needed. One thing I noticed is that moai and ahu are sometimes capitalized and sometimes not. I'm guessing not is the right choice, but the first instance of each could be italicized. I think I saw "guavas" capitalized, too, which is obviously incorrect format.

Otherwise, it would be good for whatever wasn't updated in January to be updated, with untemplated listings listified to the extent possible.
