Please could you tell me the difference between this and Isla Carenero? --BoonDock (talk) 16:36, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • It seems you can sleep in Isla Carenero, as there is accomodation, Aqua Lounge, a true and valid Sleep option. Is there any in Isla Iguana? If there is, the article is a valid one, and the tag can be removed. On the contrary, if Aqua Lounge is NOT physically located inside Isla Carenero, then both articles must be deleted, and merged into the appropriate one(s). I see that the WIAA lists the sleep option as a suggestion not a hard a fast rule. 18:07, 23 March 2023 (UTC) BoonDock (talk) 18:07, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'd like to hear more opinions from the community. However, as the text itself says, there are no Eat or Drink or Buy options, and hardly any See besides iguanas. I once started an article about w:Possession Island (Queensland), only because of its historic importance for "Australia", "British Empire" and "James Cook". The community opted for deleting it, for these very same reasons. Ibaman (talk) 18:44, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
This article is too brief. Merge and redirect to Isla Carenero. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:24, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ikan,
You have misread the discussion.
2 points.
1. Isla Carenero was used an example
2. I was in the process of createing the page. Before I had gotten very far, someone tagged the page for merging with Pedasi, which is why I started this discussion thread. BoonDock (talk) 21:25, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
OK, fair comment. So, about how many listings in each section do you expect there to be, eventually? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:54, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Don't stress it. I'll do what what originally suggested, add it as a See on Pedasi and request deletion. BoonDock (talk) 17:46, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Park articles are a bit special, as it is not uncommon not to have accommodation, restaurants or other services in them. Still, park articles should usually not be written for parks that just serve as day trip destinations. If I understand w:Isla Iguana Wildlife Refuge and w:es:Isla Iguana correctly, the refuge/island is about 1/2 km², which seems not to allow wild camping. The images on Commons are mostly from a beach. Is this in practice a resort island without local services and without sleeping options? Such considerations make the original tagging very understandable. You need to show that the island is more than those short articles and the weak image material suggest. On the other hand, I wouldn't delete the article. Instead (if not kept here), the content should be made a subsection of Do in a suitable other article. –LPfi (talk) 08:36, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Fair. For more you can see Isla Iguana this web site which covers it pretty well. BoonDock (talk) 17:48, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
