"The local bus station has buses to most places in town and in Terengganu : Marang (for Redang)"

Do you mean Merang? I think you do, so I've changed it. If I'm wrong, please change it back.

Marang/ Merang

edit

Marang is about 15 km to the south of Kuala Terengganu. It's a Jetty for tourist to go to Pulau Kapas (Kapas Island). Many bus available to Marang.

Merang is about 40 km to the North of Kuala Terengganu. There is jetty to Pulau Redang (Redang Island). Bus to there is very rare unlike Marang.

@Ikan_Kekek: I remember you saying at some point that the Terengganu dialect of Malay is quite different from standard Malay. Do you think we should mention something in the article about that. Also, on Wikipedia, it says that the Chinese community in Kuala Terengganu mainly speaks Hainanese. Since you lived in Kuala Terengganu before, can you please confirm if this is the case? The Chinese community in Terengganu is very small, and I don't know which dialect is predominant, though I would think nearly everyone would speak Malay at least serviceably as a second language. Our favorite restaurant in KT's Chinatown back in the 70s happened to be a Hakka restaurant.
In terms of the Terengganu dialect, we could mention that it varies significantly in pronunciation and somewhat in vocabulary from standard Malay and is closely related to Kelantanese though not as different from standard Malay pronunciation as Bahasa Kelantan. But the last time I visited Terengganu, in 2004, the only place where we really needed to understand Bahasa Terengganu was a small inland village. So I would say that nowadays, most orang Terengganu speak standard Malay with a standard accent even if they also know dialect. Kelantan has a lot more local pride in and support for its dialect. Thinking about this more, KT is really not the place to discuss Bahasa Terengganu. People always spoke more standard Malay there, as it's the capital city. The place for that would be in the Terengganu article. I'll elaborate a bit there. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:30, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Here's my edit, for whatever it's worth. It wouldn't surprise me if Bahasa Terengganu scarcely exists anymore. An update from someone who has more current information would be welcome. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:36, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I like the current one best. The 3rd one looks like it could be almost any city in a Muslim country, and the 1st is cut off on the top and bottom in a way I find unpleasant. But the Masjid Kristal is special. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:55, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
