Warning
editShould the warning box be expired or updated at this point? (WT-en) Maj 14:43, 15 October 2006 (EDT)
Warning Box Updated
editChanged the language of the warning box to better reflect the situation in Lebanon, and also the actual language of the State Department's travel warning to American citizens - Will Donovan [1]
Driving
editIt looks like this sessions has been written by someone angry with the country. I visited Lebanon, drove it from the northern tip to the southern tip and, despite agreeing that rules are not often followed, that we can get lost easily because of lack of signs and there is much traffic, the condition of the roads was excellent and does not match at all the description given on this page.
DRIVING
editI HAVE TO AGREE. AS IT SAYS ABOVE, THE CONDITION OF THE ROADS IN LEBANON IS NOT THAT BAD, THEY'RE ACTUALLY IN PRETTY GREAT CONDITION BUT OF COURSE THERE ARE SOME EXCEPTIONS LIKE IN EVERY COUNTRY.
Regions
editIt says there are 6 regions of Lebanon, but only five are listed. It seems like Nabatieh is missing... What shall we do? Should it be incorporated as part of South Libanon (which would make 5 regions), or could it suffice as it's own region? Seeing the little amount of content, I think it's best to just include it with South. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 18:14, 5 January 2010 (EST)
This is not a bottom level region article, so we can have just 9 other destinations listed. But right now there are 15 of them, and all but three are redlinks. I would suggest removing all the redlinked entries. --ϒpsilon (talk) 08:29, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- That seems reasonable to me, but I think the rest of them could be moved here, because they might be useful in region articles if they aren't already there. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:08, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Good idea. ϒpsilon (talk) 09:14, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

Levant
editI agree with User:SHB2000, readers of a travel guide who have chosen to read an article about Lebanon know where it is. Telling them where it is in the first paragraph of the article is an encyclopedic style that is not what we are aiming for. The lead paragraph should tell readers why they would want to go. Ground Zero (talk) 12:04, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- tbh I'd have known if it were part of the {{IsPartOf}}, but this isn't. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:06, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Also, this edit I think most readers would be more likely to know where the West Bank and Gaza Strip are than they are to know where the Levant is. "The Levant" is, for the most part, an archaic term in English. @Leaderboard: do you have any further comment on this issue? Ground Zero (talk) 17:43, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Ground Zero: No. You and @SHB2000: know better than I on Wikivoyage - feel free to do what you think is best. In other words, I'll defer to you. Leaderboard (talk) 17:49, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

WarningBox
editHi @User:Brycehughes, I would respectfully suggest that we keep the caution box, as previously added by @RickScott and @廣九直通車. Nearly every Western government advises against travel to Lebanon. I'm aware that up until prior to the Israel-Hamas war, the travel advisory was one or two steps down (e.g. Canada advised that travel to Lebanon was fine with precautions, with avoid all travel advisories for specific regions of Lebanon), but I wouldn't remove the caution box on a gut judgement safety assessment when every Western government is advising against travel to Lebanon. I have tried to temper the language to matter of factness, in hopes that this may bring us to consensus. If not, I would suggest initiating a request for comment. Thank you for your contributions on Africa. Cyali (talk) 02:23, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah. There have been some hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah recently. This would be a very foolish time to eliminate or tone down a caution for Lebanon. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:36, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
