editYou're not able to delete pages on this site? Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:46, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Ikan Kekek: Nope, I'm not an admin here or a global sysop/steward. Leaderboard (talk) 07:49, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- You should become an admin, if you are that experienced.--JTZegers (talk) 16:19, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- @JTZegers: Are you sure? I have only ~130 edits on this site, after all. Leaderboard (talk) 17:33, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- You should become an admin, if you are that experienced.--JTZegers (talk) 16:19, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- Well if that's how many edits you have, you should get some more edits (1,000 or more) and then we'll see. I'm not an admin either.--JTZegers (talk) 17:38, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- JTZegers, I've been here for a while now with 11111 edits, and I'm not an admin either (or at least on this wiki). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 02:40, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- @JTZegers: we did make a user admin although he only had about 150 edits, but that was to combat a Globally Banned user. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 02:41, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
I'm planning to create an article about Lucknow in Australia, but I did want to know how notable and famous is the Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh? Reading it, it seems big, but is it a famous tourist spot?
This is just so whether Lucknow should stay as it is, or should it be moved to Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). Thanks! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 00:54, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Population of 3,500,000 as of 2011. I doubt there's any serious question which city is more famous. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:08, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- But how famous is it? For the Australian one, it's the launch of the gold rush, attracting thousands of visitors a day (hence the name as well). But I there's no harm in just creating Lucknow (disambiguation) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 01:19, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- It's the focus of w:Awadhi cuisine. w:Kathak dance originated in Lucknow. It's a major city. I have no problem with there being a disambiguation, but I would fight against treating the capital of Uttar Pradesh as other than the default. Compare w:Lucknow and w:Lucknow, New South Wales. And the latter had a population of 297 in the 2016 census! Let's please be serious. Maybe there's a New York somewhere in the Outback, too... Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:37, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe it's just me who has a problem with notability. (like Victoria (state) or Georgia (country)) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 02:12, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- I think you have a point on Victoria, but as for Georgia, I think that English-speakers aren't at all necessarily going to be more likely to look for the country than the U.S. state. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:12, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Georgia's problem is one's bigger in area and the other is in population. While Victoria has a similar issue, that's not going to be the case in 2 years. (Melb expected to be the most populous city) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 06:22, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Which Victoria is greater in population than the Australian state? —The preceding comment was added by Ikan Kekek (talk • contribs)
- None. But I still don't understand why it's a disambg. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 07:52, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: Looking at Wikipedia for your proposed article, it seems to be a small place. As @Ikan Kekek: said, Lucknow in India is definitely more popular. I don't know what the Wikivoyage policies are regarding this, however. Leaderboard (talk) 07:35, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

- SHB2000, we've had the discussion about Victoria before. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:23, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- I can well remember. Although to say, I wasn't familiar with WV policies that time. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 08:25, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- But if Victoria grows so much, then it might have to change (like New England). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 08:27, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Not necessarily, given the criteria that were advanced in the discussion, but what's that you say about New England? The one in the U.S. includes the entirety of the Boston metropolitan area, one of the U.S.'s biggest, and several other fairly important cities, and it's a huge draw for tourism and business and academic travel. I seriously doubt any other New England will threaten its primacy. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:11, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

For all your frequent Covid updates to Bahrain. It's easy for Covid boxes to go out of date quickly, but I'm glad someone's got the Bahrain one updated. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 00:29, 6 July 2021 (UTC) |
Spelling used in Bahrain
editDo you know whether British or American spelling is used in Bahrain? Since per talk:Bahrain, it says American, but all the articles seem to be using Canadian spelling. Thought you might know better so just dropping in here. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:39, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: British. It was a former British protectorate after all. Leaderboard (talk) 09:41, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll leave a message there to changing the spelling conventions from en-US to en-GB. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:43, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
