@ויקיג'אנקי:, while the pagebanner File:Botany_Bay_Wikivoyage_banner.jpg is nice enough, it's not Botany Bay and is actually Port Jackson from South Head, with Camp Cove at Watson's Bay on the left. Very ironic, if you know Sydney history. Must have been a vision to the First Fleet. I think this could replace the banner at Sydney/Eastern Suburbs, which doesn't look as good. Southern Sydney Needs Amending

First of all the picture banner is of Watsons Bay and Sydney Harbour, not the Airport nor Botany Bay. This should be changed.

Secondly the page should be renamed. Airport and Botany Bay is a perhaps a location of Sydney but not necessarily an entire region. The region of Redfern down to Mascot is often referred to as 'South Sydney' or 'Inner South'. There is 'Bayside Council' however that's so large it stretches across the three regions of 'South-Eastern Suburbs', 'South Sydney/Inner South' and 'St George/Southern Suburbs'. All the suburbs around Botany Bay and The Airport don't really fall into one area as they're separated by Botany Bay and The Airport itself. This page should be renamed to 'South Sydney' or 'Inner South'. Alternatively it could included in the 'Sydney/Sutherland Shire' page which includes St George and St George is not part of The Sutherland Shire. That page could be renamed 'Southern Sydney' and include the three regions of 'South Sydney/Inner South', 'St George/Southern Suburbs' and The 'Sutherland Shire'. 2405:6E00:48F:E430:309F:3C2D:924C:3221 08:47, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

Perhaps if this page is referring to 'South Sydney' as in the Rabbitohs territory which used to have a council of the same name this banner might be a good idea.

I'm not too pleased with the blown-out highlights near the right. Also, I find it hard to believe this was taken in Botany Bay – looks more like South Head/Watsons Bay from the view of the skyline to me (@Voyage2023, DaGizza: – thoughts on this?), and a look through its respective Flickr gallery confirms this (though this may not be accurate). I'm not sure what should be depicted in the new banner; for the lack of a better subject, I've chosen the Infinity Building in Green Square (the centre of a major urban renewable project in Zetland), but I'm open to other suggestions. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 13:51, 26 August 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the ping. Out of the suggestions, I like #3 the most, possibly because of the combination of building and green but like all of the proposed banners. Agree that the ocean's reflection of the sun's rays has resulted in blown highlight in the current banner. Gizza ^(roam) 00:29, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
