This is a list of potential copy and paste concerns on Wikivoyage. It is created by a bot that runs 2 times per day and is the result of wikipedia:WP:Turnitin. The bot uses a commercial service powered by ithenticate. A signpost op-ed about the topic is here. Discussion on how to improve the bot is here.

  • status - Should be filled with with TP/FP prefix as follows:
    (Please stick to this convention - this is important since we may want to derive statistics later...)
    A list of sites that the bot should skip User:EranBot/Copyright/Blacklist is being built
  • comments - Add this field to entries to note whether the entry is a copyvio that should be removed from Wikivoyage, or whether it is valid for use here.

Bot hints:

  • citation - the added text mention the source. For short text it is OK (in copyright sense), and for long text it is violation.
  • Mirror? - the added text comes from a source that may be a possible mirror site of Wikipedia.
  • (CC) - the added text comes from a source that probably have creative commons license.

For ease of use you can install user script that adds buttons for TP/FP tagging. To do this add to Special:MyPage/common.js the following code:

I think the bot actually triggered on the edit that converted the listings to prose - the climate data is formatted differently from nps.gov. Whatever triggered it, the edit(s) in question are not copyvios. -- Ryan • (talk) • 04:21, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
