Hello, 117.120.16.131! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations.

Let me point out that this is not Wikipedia, but a travel guide. While general information about a place is appreciated, we're most interested in travel information. It would be much appreciated if you could quickly respond here to let us know we can reach you. Thanks and have fun, JuliasTravels (talk) 22:31, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Syria edit warring edit

Hi. Please stop posting silly things like "The area that is now known as Syria has been part of all major empires throughout history." and "The area that is now known as Syria has been part of one of the greatest empires throughout history." It's not "all major empires" and it's not only one of the greatest empires, nor is it throughout history (which empire is it part of now, in that case?). If you have nothing to say, please don't say it here. If you're doing this in good faith, please reply. Otherwise, if you continue to edit war and make inane posts, you will be blocked as a vandal. I don't think the direct accusations of edit warring and vandalism are fair in this case. My impression is that their edits are in good faith, even if they need some fine tuning. This user reposted the sentence about the empires in Syria, but he did adapt it to try and meet your concerns. I understand that you still find this remark too vague, but the intention, I think, it valid: current-day Syria has played important roles in a range of empires throughout ancient and more recent history (Ebla, the Neo Assyrian empire, the Greek Seleucid Empire, the Ottoman empire, to name a few). That is the point this user is trying to make, I think. Am I correct, User:117.120.16.131? If so, we can help you re-write the sentence to be less vague. If User:117.120.16.131 replies to this message, I will apologize for misjudging him/her. Let's see if any reply is forthcoming. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:54, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Editing concerns edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage! Unfortunately, your contributions are extremely similar to those of a persistent vandal on Wikivoyage who makes edits of questionable accuracy and value, and as a result they have been reverted as a precaution - see this discussion for details. If you feel that your edits have been incorrectly identified and would like to contribute to Wikivoyage constructively, there are some suggestions that you might find useful at Wikivoyage:Quick contribution guide. If you have questions you can ask them on this talk page or in the pub. -- Ryan • (talk) • 03:24, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
