Welcome

edit

Hello, Moonhayun! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

One convention here is not to include unnecessary information in listings. For example, a listing in the Beosong County article should not mention the county or the regions it is part of. Pashley (talk) 17:35, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the information. I will be careful when revising or adding the following article. Moonhayun (talk) 16:34, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Errors

edit

Hi Moonhayun. I've noticed some errors in your recent contributions, including information in the wrong articles ([1][2][3]) as well as nonstandard spellings that make it hard for me to tell what places you're talking about ([4]). Please be more careful about this. Where did you get the information about Jiayuguan? Can you please give the Chinese characters, or at least the pinyin spellings, to clarify the locations you're talking about? —Granger (talk · contribs) 17:02, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. I will send you the contents again with Chinese characters.
Located at the western end of the Jangseong area, it belongs to the Jouquan [酒泉] district. The distance to Lanzhou [蘭] is 754 km, and the distance to Jiajikwan Airport is about 10 km. The average annual temperature is 7 ℃, and the mild rainfall is 80 mm. It is one of the gates at the western end of the Great Wall, and its place name comes from here.
Also, I'll be careful about spelling when I make any corrections in the future. Thank you always. Moonhayun (talk) 17:07, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, but I'm still somewhat confused. Jiayuguan is not part of Jiuquan (酒泉) – they're both prefecture-level cities (地级市). Do you mean that it's near Jiuquan? "Jangseong" and "Jiajikwan" are not valid pinyin spellings, so I can't tell what places you're talking about with those. Other than that, the paragraph looks reasonable to me. —Granger (talk · contribs) 17:17, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
And you just made the same mistake again, putting information about Middletown (Connecticut) in the article about Middletown (New York)[5]. I also see that some of your edits about places outside of China have Chinese characters in parentheses. Could you please clarify where this information is coming from? Are you writing it yourself, copying it from elsewhere, or using an automated tool like Google Translate or ChatGPT? —Granger (talk · contribs) 17:22, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think there was an error in the process of transferring Korean to English. I'm using Google Translation, but I haven't checked that it was translated incorrectly. I'll be careful. Moonhayun (talk) 17:27, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
