Welcome
editHello, Qazzy52! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 00:13, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
Action detected as harmful
edit- Swept in from the pub
I tried to make my first article, but when I try to publish it, it says
"This action has been automatically detected as harmful, and therefore disallowed"
With the reason stated as being "Cannabis/CBD Spam"
my article has nothing to do with cannabis. Could someone please help? Qazzy52 (talk) 00:01, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- Sometimes, you can include this kind of information in different namespaces. Can you put this information in User:Qazzy52/sandbox and see if you can save it? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 00:12, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, Qazzy52, your actions seemed to have hit a global filter, which means most admins here can't actually do anything about it. Nevertheless, try what Koavf suggested; if that doesn't work, then I'll see if I can do it on your behalf. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 00:16, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- still doesn't work Qazzy52 (talk) 00:41, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- Can you post the text off-wiki somewhere (e.g. https://pastebin.com/ or something) and maybe someone can diagnose which term(s) are causing this? I appreciate you trying to work with us to figure out what's happening. As SHB mentioned, this may be universal. :/ —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 00:45, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Qazzy52: I have pasted the relevant text that was caught in the abuse filter onto User:Qazzy52/sandbox, cleaning up the abuse filter syntax. Hopefully, you should be able to edit the sandbox as normal – feel free to move it to Wattle Park whenever you feel like it (if that also doesn't work, then let me know on my talk page). - @Qazzy52: Obvious false positive. I assume any admin can see the log entry, the attempted content and the filter. I won't post details in public, but it seems that new users cannot create articles with certain innocent content. We might want to get this project excluded from the filter or at least keep an eye on the logs. In a week, perhaps sooner, this will not be a problem for you any more, if you edit as logged in. But Wattle Park (as shown in the sandbox) seems to be a city park, not a national park or similar (no info on sleeping – cf the Sleep test), or did you just not include that info? You should now be able to edit the article in your sandbox. –LPfi (talk) 08:12, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, I didn't check if it passed WV:WIAA, but if it doesn't, then it doesn't. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 10:06, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- my bad, i didn't see the 'what is an article' article before, it seems Wattle Park is probably not fit for an article anyway Qazzy52 (talk) 04:31, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- It is still worth a listing (or a few?), perhaps a subsection, in the relevant district article, which would be Melbourne/Eastern suburbs or Box Hill (the latter is odd, it seems not to be integrated in the districtification). SHB2000, can you give advice? –LPfi (talk) 08:56, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Much of the information now in the article draft is already in the district article or should be included there (Get in/Get around), and some may be better left for Wikipedia (most of Understand). If you add the wikidata item code (Q21970994) to the listing, you get a link to the Wikipedia article (where you could add any missing information that suits Wikipedia). –LPfi (talk) 09:08, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) I'm not an expert on this region as I've only been to Melbourne's eastern suburbs once en route the Dandenong Ranges, but I'd say this should be included as a subsection of Melbourne/Eastern suburbs, not Box Hill. I made a merge proposal two years back for that article to be merged with the Eastern suburbs, but it was removed by SelfieCity on the basis of this discussion (I still think it should). May want to consult someone more familiar with Melbourne than I am (@Vaticidalprophet:?) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 09:09, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- I added a listing for it, not sure if it requires a whole subsection Qazzy52 (talk) 09:34, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
