Grayed-out maps

For some reason, the WikiVoyage map feature does not display streets for some parts of Toronto. Click on the orange box for a demo. Part of the city is grayed out. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Toronto/Yorkville and the Annex

By adding a University of Toronto section, I have effectively doubled the number of items in the See section. Is this OK from an editorial point of view? I have documented most of the cute, older buildings within the central campus with most detail coming from Wikipedia. I have yet to do any entries about Victoria University or St. Michael's College east of Queen's Park which have more cute buildings, though these appear to be in 2 tight clusters. I feel that the article for Toronto/Yonge Street is a lost cause and recommend deleting it. I documented the reasons on the article's discussion page.

Replacing prices & hours

Particularly for popular destinations like the CN Tower I don't think it's a good idea to remove the hours and price info. Yes, that information may get out of date, but a reader shouldn't have to go to another website to find out if entrance fees are around $1, $10, $20, or if a destination is closed on a certain day of the week, etc. Wikivoyage:Listings suggests including that information within the listing. When I'm using Wikivoyage articles I find the information useful, although I usually look at the "last edited" date for the listing to get a sense of how accurate I should expect the information to be. -- Ryan • (talk) • 02:53, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Toronto/Islands

After I made the changes, I found that Toronto/Islands was once an article that was converted to a redirect. In hindsight, perhaps I should have consulted before converting it back to an article. ID_"(no element found)" is unknown to the system.

Updating rint template

WikiVoyage has a "rint" template, for example {{rint|amsterdam|5}} produces:  5 . However the template does not support tram line 6 in Amsterdam, which opened May 27, 2019 with rush-hour service only. I found the rint documentation. I have never updated a template, and don't know how to do it or whether I should do it. The question is: How can I update this template? Thanks. TheTrolleyPole (talk) 21:31, 31 December 2019 (UTC)

It looks easy enough. Just edit Template:Rail-interchange (not the documentation, but the actual template). Scroll down about 70-80 lines to where the options for Amsterdam are defined (or just search for "amsterdam"). To add support for tram line 6, you should just have to copy-paste one existing line of that code, and modify the new line of code to have the correct number (6), color, and name (which is shown when you hover your mouse over the icon).

If you're still uncomfortable updating it yourself, let me know what color it should use and what the name should be in order to match the existing entries, and I can put it in there. --Bigpeteb (talk) 22:59, 31 December 2019 (UTC)

WikiVoyage map correction

Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub#WikiVoyage map correction

The "go" template below shows the correct position of the new Union Station Bus Terminal on the WikiVoyage map. However, just north of the railway tracks, the WikiVoyage map shows the now closed "GO Union Bus Terminal" and the old and also now closed Union Station Bus Terminal, which both closed in December 2020. (Both were one and the same terminal.) Is there a way to erase these two old terminals from the map, and better still, label only the new location of the Union Station Bus Terminal? Thanks. • 1 Union Station Bus Terminal (GO bus terminal), 81 Bay St (interior pedestrian connection to Union Station rail & subway services). Union Station Bus Terminal serves GO Transit, Megabus, and TOK Coach buses. Like an airport, there are no predetermined bus platform assignments. Check display monitors for the bus departure zone; 10 minutes before departure, monitors will display the bus departure gate. The bus terminal moved to its new location on December 5, 2020; Maps might still indicate the older, now closed bus location; the new location is south of the railway corridor. (updated Dec 2020)

If this is an issue with the map itself, it's an issue with OpenStreetMap, the software Wikivoyage uses for its dynamic maps. You can create an account on OpenStreetMap (I have one) and edit similar to wiki-editing here. Nordstrom

Actually I walked through Nordstrom at the Eaton Centre this morning. It's still open, but there would be no reason for a traveller to go there. Ground Zero (talk) 18:08, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

On June 12, the store displayed the sign "last 1 days" (sic). Nordstrom is mentioned on Vancouver, Vancouver/City Centre and Calgary/Southwest. Is it time to remove these mentions, or would you want to wait until July? TheTrolleyPole (talk) 23:44, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
