Talk:London/Westminster
If Westminster is a separate city, shouldn't it be Westminster rather than London/Westminster? Of course, this more a matter of principle. How would we handle Hollywood? -- (WT-en) Nils 10:01, 16 Apr 2004 (EDT)
- Westminster is one of the burroughs of greater london. Actually Soho is actually within the City of Westminter. -- (WT-en) Mark 11:21, 16 Apr 2004 (EDT)
- Okay, changed the article accordingly. -- (WT-en) Nils 12:07, 16 Apr 2004 (EDT)
Alternative banner for this article?
editI created a new alternative banner for this article (I initially created it first and foremost so that it would be used at the top of the parallel article in the Hebrew edition of Wikivoyage, yet I later decided to also suggest that the English Wikivoyage community would consider using it here as well). So, which banner do you prefer having at the top of this article? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 05:38, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- New proposed banner is more relevant to Westminster. I like the aesthetics of the original, but would (with some regret) agree to change to the proposed one. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 06:24, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- The current banner is commendably innovative, but the new banner is more beautiful and represents the neighborhood better. I agree with Andrewssi2. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:30, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- I love the current banner. I love the innovation and simplicity of it, I love the fact it shows the famous London rooftops and the Union Flag is a nice touch to show Westminster as the seat of government. It is more beautiful to my eyes than the new one. This new banner is a poorer quality photograph from what I can see and is taken from a strange angle which makes it very jumbled and not immediately obvious what it is depicting.
- I am not opposed to replacing the current banner on principle, and a Houses of Parliament banner is a good idea (more relevant to Westminster as you've all rightly said), but this particular one is a very poor alternative. Sorry, I just can't get behind it. Regards, --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 12:14, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- I prefer the new one - it says "Westminster" more to me than the present one. Maybe the present one could be used for a UK travel topic. AlasdairW (talk) 20:55, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

- I like the current banner. Anything to get away from the stifling sameness of our city banners. Powers (talk) 23:45, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
- I'm neutral on this one. As someone who's only ever spent three days in London, I immediately recognized the new banner as Westminster. The current one I don't get the association at all. The new banner is very busy though and I think the current one is a better background for putting text on. -Shaundd (talk) 04:25, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Visits to Palace of Westminster
editLondon/Westminster#Palace of Westminster does not seem to be in sync with http://www.parliament.uk/visiting/visiting-and-tours/ --Vadp (talk) 15:49, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- Please plunge forward and correct as appropriate. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:08, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
Feature for May 2023?
editWestminster was suggested at Wikivoyage talk:Destination of the month candidates to feature in May 2023. Is this article good enough to promote to guide level? Which improvements are needed? /Yvwv (talk) 17:29, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
