To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub tagging → Article status
It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing! Gizza (roam) 01:04, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Wikivoyage workshop feedbackEdit
@DaGizza, Rangan Datta Wiki: Hello. This is my very first attempt on voyage. I am regular contributor of wikipedia but tryinn this for the very first time. I have one question.. if any article do not have sufficient photos I would like to add them.Is it ok if I would search on commons and will add photos or is it necessary that I always add photos uploaded by me on commons?--आर्या जोशी (talk) 10:58, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi आर्या जोशी, you're welcome to search on Commons for photos to add. Please do! —Granger (talk · contribs) 12:32, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Hi. It's great that you're adding thumbnails to articles, but please put only meaningful information in captions that you want readers to read. Please don't just copy the filename, including numbers, photographers' names, default location information, etc. Thanks a lot!
All the best,
@Ikan Kekek:Thanks for the guidance.Actually I am an active editor on marathi wiki but these are my learning attempts to deal with this platform.I will follow your suggestions.}}--आर्या जोशी (talk) 11:59, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
