Hello, anonymous editor using the IP address of 124.186.241.240 ! edit

Please consider registering a user account

I see that you also use another Brisbane, Australia IP address: Special:Contributions/1.120.150.75, yes?

Welcome to Wikivoyage.

Thank you for your interesting contributions to a huge and eclectic variety of articles using material from Wikipedia.

To help you contribute, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and our house style as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

It would be great if you would create your own user account on Wikivoyage because it would then provide you with various benefits:

  1. easier communication with other writers about your edits and travel tips via your very own User Talk page
  2. a choice to set the default size thumbnail images will display at (in your user Preferences)
  3. credit for your travel writing and edits, which will then all be attributed to you rather than just an IP address
  4. your contributions will become more trusted as you become familiar to other Wikivoyagers as a frequent editor with a history they can check
  5. you'll not need to pass a recaptcha test each time you add an external link

If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. We're looking forward to seeing you again here on Wikivoyage as a registered user! --W. Franke-mailtalk 12:40, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Also, if you have a look at our manual of style you will notice that sights, activities, stores, restaurants, bars, hotels and other stationary points of interest are written into listings. As this is a travel guide and not just an encyclopedia it means that the reader often would like to visit or "use" the point of interest, right? You can add a listing by clicking on the icons after the text "Listings" above the editing window. If you do not know anything about the place, you can use Google and add some quantitative information that the traveler otherwise would have to look up him/herself such as web page, street address, possibly phone number, e-mail, opening times and prices. And as Frank already said, please create an account. The process takes less than a minute, it's free, you don't need to disclose any personal information if you don't want to and having your own account is both useful and convenient. As Ypsilon said, would you please post actual entries? You're taking so much time posting one-word, often overly generic names of things to see. Your time would be better spent posting fewer but actual, informative entries, using templates. It's extremely frustrating that you ignore all posts to your talk pages and probably also ignore all edit summaries. It may at some point be necessary to briefly block your account to try to get your attention, because while some information from you is better than none, articles with just naked lists of things to see really look like hell and don't help visitors much at all. You've been blocked for 30 minutes. This is only being done to try to prompt you to read your user talk page and consider some of the things written here. You are not blocked from editing this page during the 30-minute period. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:35, 1 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violations edit

For someone that edits from Australia and has shown by some edits that they have a reasonable command of English, I am not impressed by your complete lack of response and disregard of the advice you have been offered at your "other talkpage"

Please do NOT copy and paste wodges of text here from Wikpedia (or anywhere else) without the requisite attribution.

It wouldn't be quite so egregious if you use smaller portions from Wikipedia but you still need to give proper attribution!

Please either give proper attribution or re-word the facts in the articles you have pasted unchanged material to or remove all these violations as I have just done again here. --W. Franke-mailtalk 06:32, 31 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please stop copy pasting copyright text from external sources, or you'll be blocked. --Saqib (talk) 11:04, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Enough is enough edit

As you must know by this point, Wikivoyage administrators have been trying to get in touch with you regarding your inappropriate edits. These include but are not limited to: a) unconstructive and irrelevant additions to destination articles, such as section headings with no content and vague, unexplained and completely worthless additions of listings; b) edit warring on Wikivoyage:Mapmaking Expedition; and, which is most offensive to us, c) completely ignoring the messages we've been leaving on the talk pages of your various anonymous IP addresses.

When a message is left on a user's talk page, a large orange banner and the words "You have a new message" appear on the top of the screen after login. We have left countless messages on your talk pages and even blocked you a few times, so we have no choice but to assume at this point that you are ignoring us willfully. Enough is enough. We have had our fill of cleaning up after you, and we are thus compelled to take more drastic measures in dealing with your vandalism.

This message serves as your final warning before things escalate further. The next time any edit is made other than a response to this message that addresses the concerns of our community and explains your behavior from any of the IP addresses you've used thus far (1.120.3.182, 1.120.150.75, 2.33.233.119, 58.164.158.55, 123.211.111.136, 124.177.165.57, 124.186.241.240, and 124.187.103.207), or from any other IP address or account whose editing patterns match yours, we will block all IP addresses and accounts you are known to have used for escalating periods of time.

Let it be perfectly clear to you: WE REGARD YOUR PATTERN OF EDITING, AND YOUR REFUSAL TO RESPOND TO TALK PAGE MESSAGES LEFT FOR YOU BY OTHER USERS, AS WILLFUL VANDALISM. WIKIVOYAGE DOES NOT TOLERATE VANDALISM. IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE EDITING ON WIKIVOYAGE, *PLEASE* RESPOND TO TALK PAGE MESSAGES AND CONFORM YOUR EDITS TO OUR POLICY.

Good day.
