Chiang Mai listings edit

Fred, Kanjana Restaurant never has any customers that I can see (morning, mid-day). I would delete it. Seligne (talk) 11:01, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Seligne, on Tripadvisor they do: Excellent (4x), Very good (5x), Average (1x), Poor (1x) and Terrible (0x). So I think I leave Kanjana on the list for now. When there are more tourists in Chiang Mai, I will take a look. So I suggest mid November (Loi Krathong) to be judgment time. --FredTC (talk) 13:57, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No problem. You're doing great work, Fred! Seligne (talk) 23:47, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have been there twice in November (2013). Both times I could not eat there because it was so crowded that there was no free table available. So, the listing is correct. --FredTC (talk) 10:31, 7 February 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Chiang Mai edit

Hi Fred, sorry for deleting the listings and thanks for picking up on it. When the website has died, I would do a Google search and check the major review websites (Tripadvisor, etc.) and see whether the listings have closed or not. I found a website suggesting Viangbua Mansion had closed although clearly it is wrong. In the case of the saloon, the websites suggest it is alive so that was a mistake on my part. Sorry about that.

@DaGizza: thank you for your explanation. I feared that you were using "webside gone, business gone too" as argument for deletion. Many hotels, restaurants, ..., stop with their websites and are only visible on Tripadvisor-like sites, or Facebook. There is however something strange with the Viangbua Mansion. When you try to book on sites like hotels.com, agoda, there is no availability, whatever dates you enter. So they might have changed their business model. I think one of these days, when I pass them again, I go inside and ask.
Should they remain listed if they are now limited to long term stay only?

Admin on nl.voy? edit

Was wondering whether you'd ever sign up on nl.voy considering you're the most active editor there with no issues. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:58, 16 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Awashima phone numbers edit

You mentioned that the phone numbers of Awashima had a problem, I don't understand what it is, could you explain it more simply or make the edits yourself, thank you Tai123.123 (talk) 19:22, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Tai123.123: The first thing I mentioned after the words "Some remarks" at User talk:SHB2000#Is awashima ready for guide is about what is wrong with the numbers. It says what is wrong and what it should be. --FredTC (talk) 07:07, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Technically, the only countries that add the zero after the country code are Italy and San Marino. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:02, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yes, I know. However the mobile number don't have the zero; the ones I have seen, all started with 3. --FredTC (talk) 13:43, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So is it just for landline phones? Thought it was for all but you know Italy much better than I do. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:55, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I still don't understand all phone numbers are taking from the websites provided and the official kohagi website states their phonee number begins with 0 Tai123.123 (talk) 15:42, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Tai123.123 See Japan#Connect and Wikivoyage:Phone numbers. --FredTC (talk) 06:05, 20 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
all the phone numbers have +81 Tai123.123 (talk) 06:33, 20 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Tai123.123 Yes, but as SHB2000 mentioned above, only numbers in Italy and San Marino have a zero after the country code. --FredTC (talk) 07:24, 20 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So whaat number should i put, I feel we should just trust the official website Tai123.123 (talk) 17:25, 20 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Tai123.123: please read my remarks of "06:05, 20 August 2021" again. Follow the links mentioned there and read the info you find very carefully. --FredTC (talk) 09:13, 25 August 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Old prices in the Bangkok article edit

I created a thread in the Bangkok article. There you can write down those old prices that are still accurate. And I will put these prices back into the Bangkok article.

Venice restaurant listings edit

Hey, you put the restaurant listings of Venice into the district articles. But you removed the classification into Budget, Mid-range and Splurge. Could you please reinstate the classification? 07:37, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello user:, I did not move the classification because they are not in Wikivoyage:Quick district article template. --FredTC (talk) 08:19, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hm I always look from the reader's perspective. If a reader wants to go to a mid-range restaurant, he does not want to check every listing, if it's budget, mid-range or splurge. I reinstated the classification now to improve the reader's experience.
I saw the same happened to the sleep listings.. 09:54, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
