Ysrfield
Welcome
editHello Ysrfield! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub tagging → article status
It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!
Thanks for your work, but please do not add more content to the Gonjiam article. Instead, explain on Talk:Gonjiam why it should not be immediately merged and redirected to Gwangju (Gyeonggi). I suggest you look at User talk:Xisuux first. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:05, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Gonjiam has been merged and redirected to Gwangju (Gyeonggi). Please help improve that article, and also have a look at its talk page. Thanks! Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:36, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- And please have a look at Talk:Songdo Central Park now. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:02, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
@Ysrfield: thank you for the improvements you have made to Gwangju (Gyeonggi) article. Here are some ways you can make it better:
- We know that the places listed are in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, because the article is called "Gwangju". In English Wikivoyage, it is incorrect to include the city name in addresses in listings, unless the listing is in a different city (i.e., not in Gwangju).
- In South Korea articles, we always use the 24-hour clock (09:00-18:00), not the 12-hour clock (9AM-5PM). See the box at the top of Talk:South Korea.
Please make these changes. Thank you. Ground Zero (talk) 01:23, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Ysrfield: Why do you keep adding "Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do" to addresses? This is wrong. You must correct your errors. It is not the job of anyone else you clean up after you. Ground Zero (talk) 02:17, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
Wikivoyage style
editHi. this edit of the "Get in" section is not in Wikivoyage style at all. Please edit it to resemble the structure of any "Get in" section of any city article in Category:Star articles or Category:Guide articles. Subheadings like "From Suwon" are fine for a "By car" section, but please use ===By car=== and then ====From Suwon====.
"Nearby Highways and Scenic Drives" are not about getting in, but instead belong in "Do" if they're in town or at least quite close to town, or otherwise, in "Go next," (and that subheading should also be edited to conform to Wikivoyage:Capitalization) and "Tips for Driving in South Korea" belong in South Korea#By car, not a city article, as they're not specific to this city.
Please make these changes, and if there's anything you didn't understand, tell me what I can explain differently. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:48, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Ysrfield, Hanyangprofessor2: I have reverted this edit. As I explained above, times in South Korea articles use the 24-hour clock. If you are going to ignore the advice provided to you, your edits will be removed. Ground Zero (talk) 12:05, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Ysrfield, Hanyangprofessor2: I have corrected the errors you made in the Gwangju (Gyeonggi) that you did not correct despite my request on the article talk page. If you make more errors, I will just remove your edits. Ground Zero (talk) 04:47, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Ysrfield, Hanyangprofessor2: I rolled back some of your edits on Gwangju (Gyeonggi) as I said that I would do. The next time you make the same mistakes, I will block you from editing. Ground Zero (talk) 10:51, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
