Hello, Zend2020! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 07:01, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Get in and Get around headings

edit

Hey Zend2020, I just wanted to let you know how the Get in and Get around sections are done. We usually don't put listings in the get in or get around. User:Ikan Kekek and I have been fixing your edits up. So a get in/around heading is meant to look like this:

==Get in==
===By car===
xyzabc
===By bus===
yzabcx

The only exception is a by plane (not by air) section where it looks like this

===By plane===
There are scheduled flights to Airport xyz (Airport code IATA).. From Airport xyz, use the A012 to get to city xyz CBD.

Note that the by plane is only to a get in section, and remember to not use listings. Listings are generally for See, Do, Buy, Eat, Drink, Sleep or event, and not get in or get around. If you need any help, you can ask User:Ikan Kekek or I or the most active admin the hour (at this hour, it's Ikan Kekek). Thanks! Okay .Thank you--Zend2020 (talk) 07:13, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
It can be OK to have a listing for an airport if it's sufficiently complex. See New York City#By plane for some examples. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:21, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Something like Lagos would be okay to have a listing, but some other smaller ones won't. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 07:31, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to ping a user, use the template {{ping}}. So {{ping|SHB2000 (test 2)}} would produce @SHB2000 (test 2):. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 03:20, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

SHB2000 Thank you will try it out but need to be sure of timezone though "smiling" —The preceding comment was added by Zend2020 (talkcontribs)

The opening of the Nigeria café

edit

Dear Zend2020, we are exited to open our new Nigeria Café, open to all. It is a place for the users of the Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition users to collaborate, ask for help, make announcements, make initiatives and most importantly celebrate article related celebrations. It is also a place for you to ask general questions, and an experienced user or an admin will be sure to answer the question and possibly teach more on how Wikivoyage works.

This is also meant to be on top of the Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition, which is also meant to help us improve our Nigerian destinations. If you haven't already joined, feel free to join, and it is never too late.

So be sure to check out Wikivoyage:Nigeria café

Train stations

edit

Hi, Zend2020, and thanks for helping out here! I see you started an article about a train station. We don't have articles about train stations on this site; instead, they are "Go" listings in the "Get in" sections of the cities where they're located.

All the best,

Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:07, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay.Thank you Zend2020 (talk) 16:31, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sure thing. I should have posted Wikivoyage:What is an article as a reference for you. And I want to say, the Nigeria Expedition has been a huge success, and I hope it continues apace! Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:17, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
