Itinerary from Singapore/Jakarta/Bali/Dili to Darwin/Cairns/Adelaide

Is it possible to make such an intercontinental trip on surface and if so is such itinerary recorded anywhere on the site? Asked by: C933103 (talk) 05:02, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we have any, and the closest we have is Australia#By overland transport SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 05:09, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not unless you count ship traffic as being on the surface. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:07, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Something roughly along these lines seems to be possible by ship. This cruise line apparently goes from Biak to Darwin, for instance. Biak can be reached by ferry from other parts of Indonesia, and Darwin is connected to Cairns and Adelaide by land. I'm not sure about Dili, though. There is still some COVID-related disruption, but cruise ships are now allowed to go to Australia again after being banned for two years. Round the world overland may also be of interest. —Granger (talk · contribs) 09:52, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I lived in Singapore in the 1980s. At that time there was a luxurious boat sailing from there to Brunei, a fine old ship built in Victoria's reign. I never made that journey but friends who did said it was wonderful. If she is still sailing & COVID restrictions allow, that could be part of your route.
