Can you sleep there? edit

If not, we need to say so and ask ourselves wiaa Hobbitschuster (talk) 14:36, 5 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

In almost all cases attractions don't get their own articles. But if it's a big, popular, famous attraction some distance away from other destinations with more to see that can be listed in that nearby destination's article (or it'd be silly to add a world famous attraction in the article of a nearby village nobody has heard of because the latter has a hotel...), we do occasionally allow that article have an article even if it doesn't have any place to sleep — it sort of becomes like a travel topic.
The Valley of the Kings possibly would fall into that category, together with the Pyramids of Giza (which apparently have some nearby places to sleep). Other examples are Angkor Archaeological Park, Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, the Forbidden City and highly likely also Machu Picchu if that one tiny and expensive lodge next to the ruins would close. --ϒpsilon (talk) 17:07, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Let's note that Disneyland has its own article separate from Anaheim, as well as Disneyland Paris apart from Paris. The Valley of the Kings at least *deserves* a similar treatment, being a prime touristic destination since centuries ago. Ibaman (talk) 17:24, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that was my point. World-famous, big attractions can very well get their own articles even if you can't actually sleep on site. ϒpsilon (talk) 17:36, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

It is definitely impossible to sleep in the Valley of the Kings. In the area of the souvenir shops at the entrance to the archaeological site you can buy small snacks etc. Otherwise one can refer to Luxor/West Bank which consists of several villages with such opportunities. --RolandUnger (talk) 07:37, 15 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think the destination is too well known not to have its own article. --Comment by Selfie City (talk about my contributions) 13:58, 15 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
