Hello, CactiStaccingCrane! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

However, I did delete your new page SpaceX Starship. It's completely out of scope and this is not an encyclopedia. That's what Wikipedia is for. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 07:48, 28 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oops, I should have read the instructions more carefully. Thank you for notifying me! CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 07:49, 28 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
There's a good explanation on what gets its own article at wv:wiaa. But don't worry too much, as it's all sorted out now. But again, welcome to Wikivoyage :-) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 07:59, 28 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your hospitality! I gonna help a bit here and there, and add more stuff to the Brownsville (Texas) guide. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 08:02, 28 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Links to Wikipedia edit

Hi! Thanks for your improvements to the Space article.

Would you mind not adding links to Wikipedia in the text of Wikivoyage articles? We do link see and do (and occasionally eat and sleep etc) listings to their Wikipedia article where possible, but we don't allow links to any Wikipedia article in the rest of Wikivoyage.

This policy is explained fully in Wikivoyage: Links to Wikipedia, but please let me know if you have any questions. All the best, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:30, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

ThunderingTyphoons!, thanks a lot for your advice, I never knew it before. All the best, CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 16:35, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's okay. You're not expected to know all the rules when you're just getting started!--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:43, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Outer space redirects edit

Hi, CactiStaccingCrane. Let's please not get carried away. Most of the redirects you just created are not travel destinations and should be speedily deleted without even taking the time to nominate them for deletion. The first time someone goes in person to any other planet, let alone Alpha Centauri, is when we should start covering it as a travel destination. Thanks, and please don't create any more of these non-travel-related redirects. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:23, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reminding me :) CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 20:34, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sure thing, and no problem. I've been a big space-travel and astronomy enthusiast since I witnessed the moon launch as a 4-year-old in 1969. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:46, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh, for real? That's real cool of you! CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 20:46, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, for real. I witnessed it live on TV, not in person. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:33, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please reply to Talk:Space#Regionify?. I hadn't had a chance to start reading a lot of your additions to Space in full. If I don't even support redirects for parts of the galaxy that haven't seen any human beings, I certainly can't see why a travel guide would tolerate "regions" that are beyond even unpersonned (if you like) flight.
