James Moore200
Hello James Moore200! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub tagging → Article status
It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!
We're glad you're here and thanks for starting something at Lekki Conservation Centre, but it's not yet an article. The first thing I'd suggest doing is adding a Wikivoyage:Park article template. Also have a look at Wikivoyage:Image policy - images are great, but the house style here is to have a few of them to illustrate prose content, not to have them hang down past the end of the article.
While you're getting your sea legs here, don't hesitate to lean on veteran Wikivoyage users for information and advice about the guide. You can reply with any questions below or post to Wikivoyage:Tourist office or the Travellers' pub.
Happy Editing!
All the best,
Airport articles
editHi again, User:James Moore200!
I just wanted to talk to you a little bit about airport articles. Wikipedia has articles for every airport; we don't. Please have a look at Wikivoyage:Airport Expedition. Here are some criteria we use for whether an airport should get its own Wikivoyage article:
- Does the airport service connecting flights? Only airports large enough to service connecting flights should be considered for articles since travelers are unlikely to be spending significant time at airports that serve only as departure and final destination points.
- Does the airport have enough food and shopping options to fill out an entire "Buy" and "Eat and Drink" section?
But basically, they can be summed up as "Does the section on the airport in a city guide overwhelm the guide, or is it relatively short and easy to understand?"
I would suggest to you that Port Harcourt International Airport would not require an article on this site, and that Murtala Muhammed International Airport would be a more likely target for an article, but only if traffic has increased drastically since 2009, as you can see here that "there is a de facto 'line' somewhere around 20-30 million pax p.a. (pre-plague, obviously) above which airports are likely to get articles and below which they are unlikely to" - "pax p.a." meaning "passengers per annum (per year)".
Finally, please read Wikivoyage:Copyleft. You appear to be copying and pasting text from some other site (I'm guessing Wikipedia) without acknowledgement. That is a violation of both Wikipedia's Creative Commons Copyleft and this site's policy, and moreover, due to the differences between the styles and aims of the two sites, it is not appropriate. Because of that, we will probably have to delete these articles; I'd like to read a reply from you before such action is taken, but I don't think it will be long in coming.
All the best,
Reply
editDear Ikan Kekek,
Thank you for the messages. I am currently working on the two articles (both are under creation) I am definitely going to fill it up with all necessary information today.
I will follow all the suggestion you have given and also ensure to put them up in my own words
Thanks a lot.

- Thank you. I'd suggest you acknowledge your sources in edit summaries on the articles in question, which you can type in the "Summary" box below your edit screen.
- All the best,
- I have deleted the Port Harcourt article, which was copied directly from a commercial site, airport-technology.com. As that site owns the copyright to the text, Wikivoyage cannot use it. I have deleted it per WV:CSD, our policy on deleting copyright material.
- The Murtala Muhammed International Airport article is copied from the same website, so we can't use that text either. @James Moore200: will you be rewriting the article soon? Ground Zero (talk) 12:19, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
Expedition
editA new "expedition" has been created to support the fantastic work of the Nigerian team. Please see Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition and you're more than welcome to join us! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 02:25, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
