Copenhagen Airport

Did you know you can add coordinates to listings? This will make them visible on the article's dynamic map.

To add coordinates, first either open the older version of the dynamic map by clicking the icon just above the upper right corner of the article's banner or alternatively go to [1]. Whichever site you chose, it’s practical to open it in a new tab or window.

Then right-click (or click, depending on which site you chose) in the map on the building/whatever you want to get coordinates for, and a speech bubble will open with its coordinates. Mark, copy and paste the latitude and longitude into the listing's lat and long parameters. Have a look at the wikicode for listings that already have coordinates, e.g. Aarhus#See, to be sure you use the right format. Cheers! ϒpsilon (talk) 08:38, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi and thanks. I wasn't aware that you could extract coordinates like that, I have used an on-line site I found useful for that purpose instead when I added coordinates to the article some time ago. I think I have added the most essential coordinates for now, but do you have any special wishes in this regard perhaps? RhinoMind (talk) 09:16, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Well, it would be good if everything that is located somewhere (sights, shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, accommodation and many activities) would also have coordinates. The Aarhus article is in such a good shape that if it weren't for the coords it would likely be nominated for DotM or OtBP already. :) ϒpsilon (talk) 09:26, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Aarhus eat listings

Some of the consensus about making this DoTM revolved around whether eat listings should be arranged by price point or by category (since there is currently a hybrid system going on). Do you think the traveler would be better served by pulling the price-arranged listings out and putting them into a category? If so, I can help you shift things around. If not, I think we should add subcategory titles for some of the more explanatory sections and shift them below the general price-range arrange listings to make it easier to skim to sections of interest. I want to make sure we can get the article to a place where there is no excuse to not feature it. Hell, I'd like to see the article reach Star status and I think we can get it there. Winter in the Nordic countries

Hi!

We have a little project going on developing the Winter in the Nordic countries article up to guide status during this winter in order to feature it as FTT at the brink of the winter season in late 2018 (maybe October or November). As you may see, the article could need some more stuff related to Denmark. @Ypsilon: Hi and thanks for the notice. I can't think of anything in particular from Denmark related to winter. Most of the time there isn't even snow here, it is just dark, cold and boring :) Christmas stuff around December in some of the larger cities might be of interest though. There are of course a lot of cultural things going on, as is the case all year round, but nothing related to winter in particular I would say. RhinoMind (talk) 00:45, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

Jutland

Please kove the details about the hikes to the articles for the nearest city. These do not belong in the Jutland article, or even in the articles for the subregions of Jutland.

Wikivoyage:Region article template says:

"Individual listings should be placed at the lowest available level of local page (a district of a huge city or the city page for a small town)."

I provided a link to the policy on this, but I guess you chose not to read it. It also says:

"The region-level description is a brief overview only; it will mention that Walt Disney World is near Orlando but not list full contact info. Don't name every hotel and eatery in the area. General descriptions like "many hotels in Orlando accommodate visitors to the Disney park", "multiple restaurants offer patios facing the river" or "various marinas in Ontario and New York rent boats to Thousand Islands visitors" are fine but leave it at that and save the lists of individual hotels, cafés and marinas for the city or local-level articles."

In region articles, we provide general descriptions, not details. What is the point of a local page if everything is in the region level? Would it make sense to have one article for all of Jutland, and put all of the hikes, sights, hotels, bar and restaurants there? Isn't Jutland kind of a big place? Ok. But it wasn't me who started putting in specific details. Besides, most of the sub-pages are really, really bad. I didn't aim to improve each and every sub-page on Jutland. I don't care much about them, really, and I can see that no-one else does either?

Anyway, I get your point. No worries. I will try to implement it, as best I can. But I have some good advice: If you know how to do stuff, then just do it. It will create a much better result, and you avoid insulting people. That's how I usually handle things myself. I don't delete other peoples work, or make a big fuzz about errors they make. Thank you for agreeing to do this. I have been working to improve the Jutland page and its subregion pages by moving details of listings to the local pages. For example, [

It was frustrating to see you adding in detailed information about hikes into this page when they would be more useful to readers in local pages, which I have also been improving. I wanted to guide you to contributing more constructively to Wikivoyage, and provided you information on its policies, including a link. You chose to argue the point.
