Hello, Wolfgang8741! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.
Thanks a lot for adding geocoordinates to places in Hyattsville! One word about addresses on Wikivoyage: For better or worse, the practice is to exclude default address info (Cityname, if it's the same as the name of the article, state, zip) and also use standard abbreviations like "St", "Ave", etc.
Thanks again and happy editing! Wik All the best,

- Thanks for the note on the convention. I will try to remember that going forward, but it would be useful to put a validation check for addresses to fit the desired format. Even better would be to break up the entire field to have specific values for street number, name, and the other fields (autofilled) so these could be better integrated with the structured data. Given the that the locations are divided by regions much of this could be automatically applied and a zip code could be looked up if a service fit. I'd rather have access to the full address for mailing and other possible uses than be creating a single field needing to be split later for the various data. Deeper integration with Wikidata for the fields would help to build out this as well. Thanks again. Wolfgang8741 (talk) 22:34, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, there are good arguments for including all that info. You could bring it up at Wikivoyage talk:Listings. You also might be interested in Wikivoyage:UX Expedition. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:51, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Continued thanks for adding more content to articles, and a reminder to please avoid default address info, as when you include it, someone has to take the time to remove it to make listings confirm to Wikivoyage style. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:47, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- Apologies, will do. I see I was alerted to this before. I assure you this is not intentional. It would be very helpful if the "help text" in the address field gave a format example to remind those who don't edit frequently of the desired style in context of where it is used. - Excellent idea. I don't know how that would be done on the technical side. I'll try to remember to bring this up in the Travellers' pub. Thanks a lot. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:58, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
