Talk:Amber Road
Latest comment: 2 years ago by ThunderingTyphoons! in topic VfD
Good article so far, but it needs a route showing each major town/city to stop off at. Also, all of the countries that are included in the road. I will attempt to do this from looking at the map, but as i have no prior knowledge of it, it will need some corrcting. (WT-en) Danbrown99 16:27, 17 March 2007 (EDT)
According to the template at the bottom this should be deleted
editIf we agree that this is a silly proposal, we should change the template. If not, we should discuss it. Hobbitschuster (talk) 21:53, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- The article says it's an ancient trade route, and thus probably meets the "famous, marked route" criteria at WV:Itineraries#"One year" deletion rule, but if that's not the case then yes, it should go to VFD. -- Ryan • (talk) • 22:15, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

editPer the one-year rule for itineraries; there have been no edits since 2019 and no human edits since 2017. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 04:37, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- The German itinerary seems to be at guide status, so this should be viable and easy to improve for our German speakers. –LPfi (talk) 07:23, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- Inspiration can be taken also from the Eurovelo 9 route, which goes by this name. –LPfi (talk) 07:28, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. It is a real & interesting route, see w:EV9 The Amber Route. Pashley (talk) 08:32, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- Real places are no longer exempt from deletion, nor is it exempt because it's interesting. However, if we have anyone who's willing to translate the German Wikivoyage article as LPfi suggests (the de.voy article does partially go against the en.voy MoS which is why I did not do the translation myself), then I'm all for keeping it but please give policy-based reasonings for keeping it. - Keep. Has a route, so it's in that sense usable already, even though it's not usable in a formal Wikivoyage status sense. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:24, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- Comment - Per WV: Itineraries: "Sufficiently famous, marked routes such as Alaska Highway or Annapurna Circuit are exempt from this rule." Does the Amber Road count as one of those? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 08:40, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. There's enough information for it to be of some benefit to a reader. Gizza (roam) 06:29, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- Outcome: consensus is to keep --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 09:24, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
