Copyright violation notice
editWhat do we do? We can't allow copyright violation. Do we need to delete this page? Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:57, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Before we do that, let's be sure that there is copyright violation. I am not convinced that there is. @2006nishan178713: please explain which text you believe us a copyright violation, and copy you think Wikivoyage has taken text from another web page, as opposed to the other web page taking Wikivoyage's text without attribution. The entire guide is taken from https://carta.guide/i/tezpur/.- Anyways, I am rewriting this guide. 2006nishan178713t@lk 04:14, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry, carta.guide has taken the text from wikivoyage. But still there are numerous style issues, so I am gonna re-write it. 2006nishan178713t@lk 04:27, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- Did they credit their source? Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:47, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- Yes they did 2006nishan178713t@lk 07:32, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- The bulk of the content before the rewrite was added in January 2013 so it's unlikely that it was a copyright violation because somebody would've picked it up much earlier. Having said that, it looks much better now, copyvio or not. Gizza (roam) 08:06, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- It will look even better, wait for a few weeks. :) 2006nishan178713t@lk 08:12, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- The text I looked at goes back even further to Wikitravel, where is was added in 2006 with typos and capitalization errors which were later corrected. The fact that the site linked does not have those errors supports my thinking that that site stole from us.
- The article is already looking much better. Thanks 2006nishan178713. Ground Zero (talk) 10:58, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

- It's not theft is they credit the source. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:57, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- Fair point. I did not see the credit when I looked at the site. Ground Zero (talk) 22:21, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- It's at the end of the site https://carta.guide/i/tezpur/
- It's given like SOURCE:WIKIVOYAGE 2006nishan178713t@lk 07:35, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

- @Ground Zero, Yup! It's done. You can now call this a guide. :) 2006nishan178713t@lk 09:47, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Featured article?
editWhat does it take to feature this article on Dotm? /Yvwv (talk) 09:25, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it is well written. Leoneix (talk) 02:45, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- The listings have been updated for 2022. Ground Zero (talk) 03:08, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
Improving the Drink section
editTezpur was nominated for OtBP in late 2022 but slushed because the Drink section is quite sparse.
So I tried to fix it by looking at Google Maps and Openstreetmap for some bars (icons with a drink glass) but couldn't find any. Google has restaurant listings in Tezpur, with pictures including ones of the menus. On the beverage side there seems just to be soft drinks, coffee, tea, juices and the like, the exception being Zoral which is listed in the article. Is Tezpur mainly a "dry" town?
I mean if there isn't really anything more to list in Drink, the article would be good to nominate and feature as it is now (after updating the listings/deleting closed places of course). Ypsilon (talk) 17:00, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ping to User:2006nishan178713 who has written a considerable part of the article in 2022 and presumably knows the city. If you happen to read this, please comment. --Ypsilon (talk) 19:04, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
